Gabriel Gonzalez’s Approach
After more than 17 years in the field, there’s nothing you could share with me that I would see as “bad,” “taboo,” or too much. I want to work with the full range of your experiences, desires, and challenges so we can address what’s really happening in your relationship.
I believe it takes two (or more) to tango, and that there’s rarely a single “problem person” in a relationship. This doesn’t mean shying away from accountability or hard truths, but instead, to ensure everyone feels equally supported and heard, so I can guide you toward the outcomes you’re both hoping for.
Because of my background as a clinical director and healthcare executive, I understand the immense pressure that work, leadership, and responsibility can place on a relationship. I bring that understanding into the room, helping you learn how to prioritize and nurture your partner(s) even when life outside of it demands everything from you.

Turning Conflict Into Clarity and Connection
You and your partner keep having the same fight — again and again. Whether it’s about intimacy, cultural differences, work stress, or something deeper, you’re stuck in a painful loop of explosions, shutdowns, or stalemates that leave you both feeling misunderstood.
Underneath the fights are unresolved hurts: the time they chose work over an important date with you, a breach of trust that still haunts the relationship, or unhealed resentments that build without resolution.
What you really want is to find your way back to how things felt in the beginning — when communication was easy, intimacy was exciting, and you felt like a team building a future together rather than two roommates on opposing sides.
Beyond Repair: Building the Relationship You Really Want
My goal isn’t to help you go back to how things were; it’s to help you build something stronger than you’ve ever had before. Even the biggest fights are openings for deeper understanding when you have the right support. I’ll hold a steady space for the hard moments, help you move productively through long-standing fights, and guide you toward a relationship that is more honest and more connected than it’s ever been.
Where Culture, Identity, and Relationships Intersect
As a queer, Afro-Caribbean therapist born and raised in Puerto Rico, I understand how your identity and relationships are shaped by cultural histories, racial identities, and lived experiences.
I’ll bring that lens to the therapy room, helping you explore and understand how those layers may be impacting communication, trust, or intimacy. I work fluently in English and Spanish, and can understand (but not speak) Portuguese. Please express yourself in the language that feels most authentic to you.
Specialized Support for CNM, Kink, & LGBTQIA+ Communities
I have specialized training in working with consensually non-monogamous (CNM) relationships, as well as with those in the LGBTQIA+, kink, and BDSM communities.
Whether you’re curious about opening your relationship, navigating the early stages of exploring CNM, or part of an established polycule, I’ll help you and your partners clarify agreements, strengthen communication, and work through issues of communication, jealousy, or trust.
