THERAPY FOR JEWISH COUPLES IN HOUSTON

Reconnect with the Heart of Your Marriage

Clock showing the time as 12:15

When your marriage matters deeply, getting help can feel complicated.

For many Jewish couples, your relationship is connected to faith, family, tradition, community, parenting, and the values you want to carry into the next generation. When something feels difficult between you and your partner, those layers can make it harder to understand what's really happening, or to know where to turn for help.

You shouldn't have to explain the context of your marriage before you can begin working on it.

At Heights Couples Therapy, we provide couples therapy for Jewish couples across a wide range of religious, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds.

Whether you're navigating different levels of observance, recurring fights, intimacy concerns, parenting differences, or simply want your relationship to be the best it can be, couples therapy can give you a space to understand all layers of your experience and find a way back to connection, harmony, and purpose.

When you’re seeking support for a relationship that carries so much meaning in your life, you deserve a therapist who understands the deeper context of your relationship and respects your cultural and religious values

Why Choose A Therapist Who Specializes in Jewish Couples?

Every couple is different, and being Jewish doesn’t automatically determine what does or doesn’t happen in your marriage. Nor does your Jewish identity, culture, or religion have to be part of why you’re coming to therapy.

However, your marriage exists within a larger web of family, tradition, community, religion, and cultural expectations. When you are focusing on improving your relationship, that context matters.

A therapist who specializes in Jewish couples may be better able to spot when a disagreement about parenting is also about values, when a challenge around intimacy intersects with religious practice, or when a surface argument is actually connected to deeper layers of identity – all nuances that will shift how this issue is approached and which solutions are acceptable.

When you’re seeking support for a relationship that carries so much meaning in your life, you deserve a therapist who understands the deeper context of your relationship and respects your cultural and religious values, so they can help you reconnect in a way that aligns with your values.

What Makes Jewish Relationships Different

Every Jewish couple is unique, and your culture, religion, and history may shape the way challenges show up in your relationship.

  • Seeking help can feel like failure

When marriage and Shalom Bayit are deeply valued, reaching out for help can feel like admitting something has gone wrong.

  • Different levels of religious observance

When partners have different relationships with Judaism, questions about the kind of home, family, and life they want to build can become deeply personal.

  • Intimacy may be complicated by religious practice

Physical and emotional closeness can become harder to navigate when desire, vulnerability, expectations, Niddah/Taharat HaMishpacha, and other aspects of religious practice intersect.

  • Parenting can put added pressure on the marriage

Differences around education or religious upbringing can create tension, especially when you begin to worry your relationship struggles are impacting your children.

  • Family, community, and generational patterns impact the relationship

The demands (and joys!) of a large family, community expectations, and patterns carried across generations can shape your relationship.

How Therapy Can Help Jewish Couples

JEWISH COUPLES THERAPIST IN HOUSTON

I work with Jewish couples across a wide range of religious and cultural backgrounds, always holding the context of your culture, values, and traditions within your relationship’s story.

My interest in couples work came from a deep appreciation of the “silent symphony” that happens between partners. I noticed what was communicated through tone, expression, tenderness, and withdrawal – often never said out loud – but felt by each partner.

My role is to help you develop a deeper understanding of the emotional “symphony” between you and your partner – allowing you to shift how you relate, how you love, how you connect, and how you fight – so you can make changes that move you towards the marital harmony you’re both seeking.

As a Jewish man married for 17 years, raising four children, deeply involved in the Jewish community, and with advanced clinical training in couples therapy alongside a background in pastoral counseling, I offer Jewish couples relationship support grounded in an understanding of their cultural, religious, and family lives.
